March is Women’s History Month and the library is
celebrating the lives of women of all walks of life. Women’s History Month was
first recognized in 1987 after Congress passed Public Law 100-9 on March 12th
of that year.
President Ronald Reagan issued the first proclamation
recognizing Women’s History Month on March 16, 1987. Every president since has
followed suit.
To celebrate Women’s History Month, the library has various
books on women’s history available for checkout the table near the circulation desk. A
display case, located near the non-fiction section, is also filled with various
historical items relevant to women with Sheridan County connections.
